Monsanto and Now Congress Don’t Give a Damn About Us

How timely were my previous blogs about GMO and Monsanto.  Now Monsanto wants to deprive the rest of us of the right of judicial review of their products.  See the above article.    From that page: “This week the House of Representatives will consider a provision to House Agricultural Appropriations Bill that will fundamentally undermine the concept of judicial review. Hidden under the guise of a “Farmer Assurance Provision” (Section 733), the provision strips the rights of federal courts to halt the sale and planting of genetically engineered crops during the legal appeals process.” (My bolding)

I love the cynicism of the authors of this bill to call this the Farmer Assurance Provision.  That sounds like the definition of chutzpah to me.  It should be called the Monsanto Company Provision.  That means that no matter how damaging their crops might be, Monsanto gets to go ahead and push them and thumb their nose at us and the government.

Please – please – please Sign this letter to your Congressional representative asking that this portion of the bill be removed.  Money may talk yet enough of us can shout more loudly and let Congress know that we are watching them and expect them to behave in an ethical and just fashion towards us.

Thanks for your commitment to the good health of all of us.
