- I am copying here an email sent to me via the National Vaccine Information Center, a find group that educates people about the issues pertaining to vaccination. Bill AB2109 in the California Assembly would change current law. At present a parent may opt out of vaccination for their child if they provide a statement that such vaccinations are contrary to their beliefs. A school may require that the student not attend if that student has been exposed to one of the diseases for which vaccinations are available. This bill would require that the parent see a health practitioner who must explain about vaccination and sign a specified document that the parent was educated and still refuses vaccination. The parent must also sign a document stating that such education was transmitted by the health practitioner. While the government puts forth the idea that vaccinations are necessary and are safe there is ample evidence that this is not so clear. Too many children have developed terrible symptoms from vaccinations. The list of side effects from them is extensive and serious. The parents I know who decide not to vaccinate have been hounded by their pediatricians and accused of not truly loving their child. I fear what would happen if they had to jump through hoops now to express their dissent.
Please contact your assembly person tonight or first thing tomorrow morning about this bill if you agree that it is not appropriate.
“We wanted to alert you to a bill that is awaiting a final vote in California, AB2109, that puts personal belief exemptions to mandatory vaccination in jeopardy by making their validity dependent on a signature by one of a very limited number of health care providers.
If you know anyone in California, can you please take a minute right now to call or text them now and forward this note to them letting them know it is really important for them to call their Assembly Member right now to ask them to Vote NO on the concurrence of AB2109. We need your help to get the word out.
